Presidents Early Summer - 2024
Dear IVBA Member, I'm looking forward to a great summer! Please review this important information and mark your calendars for our social events! Beach plowing/cleanup is complete, and the beach is ready for summer enjoyment! I am excited to tackle the role of interim president. Association Meetings: Matters of importance to all homeowners are discussed and voted upon at these meetings.

- Saturday, June 8th - Welcome Back Cocktail Party - 5:30 on the beach!
- Thursday, July 4th - Breakfast on Beach and Parade
- Saturday, July 6th - Junior Olympics on the beach ages 4-12 9:30-10:30
- Saturday, July 13th - Movie on the beach
- Saturday, Aug 3rd - Dinner and Dancing IVB style - 6:00 PM Dinner by Chow and DJ
- Satruday August 24th - End of Summer Cocktail Party
🗑Carting Services: The Association has once again arranged for weekly curbside garbage and recycling collection with Sweitzer Waste Removal for all IVBA households - Pick Up on Monday (except Memorial Day and Labor Day, it will be Tuesday) Unless you opt-ed out with Jeff Plocharczyk, you will see the carting charge added to your July tax bill.
😎Association Officers and Executive Board Members: Many of our officers and board members' terms expire this August. We would love to see some new folks step up to help! We will provide additional details on the roles to help you decide.

We are always looking for new people to become involved in our Association. If you are interested in becoming an Officer, or Board Member, or in participating on any of our committees (e.g., Social Committee, Beach Committee), please contact Lynn Abraham (the chair of the Nominating Committee) or any current Officer or Board Member to express your interest. I can assure you that your interest will be welcomed. New members are especially urged to participate. It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors.
🐠 Beach Information:
⏰New for 2024 - At last August's meeting, we agreed on a pilot program for leaving chairs on the beach - from Memorial Day to September 30th. We will evaluate this program at the August meeting at the end of the summer. The key to success is courtesy!
🚨Guidelines for leaving chairs on the beach:
Only 2 chairs per household (More than 2 per family will be removed)
Name must be clearly written on the chair (Chairs without names will be removed)
Chairs may only be kept in the designated area by the fence.
Chairs only - (No Umbrellas, toys, or other beach items)
Locking chairs together is permitted but not to the fence or to other families' chairs.
Leaving chairs is at the owner's risk - IVBA does not assume responsibility for any damaged or stolen chairs.
🐚Additional Beach Info:
Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach
Please continue to use your Orange IVB Tags unless you are leaving your chairs on the beach (We do not want those being taken by non-members)
Please take ALL trash from the beach. (We do not have garbage cans there since people were using them for dog bags and household garbage)
If you are storing a paddle board or kayak on the beach:
It must be no longer than 12’ and only in the designated area on the east side of the fence.
The Association Property owner's name and Coast Guard label must be visible. These will be available at the annual meeting
🏠If you Rent. . . You are reminded that Section 7 of our By-laws prohibits renting for periods of less than two weeks at a time. We have received complaints of violations. It is, of course, easy for us to search online to confirm whether rentals are being advertised for less than two-week periods. Violators are subject to a fine by the Executive Board. Also, please post the IVBA rules in a conspicuous place (e.g., on the refrigerator) for your renters. A copy of the current Association Rules is available on our website www.islandviewbeach.org 🎗Please remember: Owners are accountable for the behavior of their tenants
.⚒️ If You Plan Home Repairs/Projects. . .Please be considerate of your neighbors when scheduling during the summer. No major exterior work is permitted during July or August.
